Jimmy Ntintili had been taking friends from Johannesburg's suburbs
to sports events for a long time. They all love it. The charm, difference, vibrancy
the whole atmosphere captivated them. He realized that this was the only opportunity
that these people, non-Sowetans, had of seeing anything of Soweto firsthand,
other than relying on the media for their "Soweto" knowledge.
This realization gave birth to Face to Face Tours cc in 1985, the original Soweto
Tour operator, to show everyone who cared to make the trip, what Soweto life
is really all about, the good, the bad, the bold, the beautiful and ugly.
Over a Million people have had a look. Many of them more than once. They all
agree: Life is not quite the same after this experience.
Interest in the business took a rapid growth which, therefore, necessitated
consequential in the sphere of operation. We expanded into the entire South
Africa and have not lost touch of our guiding vision - to specialise in the
cultural aspect of travel. The most recent concept addition into the business
operation is that of an opportunity for visitors to stay with families in townships.
Today Face to Face runs a fleet of luxury busses for a quick, comfortable and
safe trip through Soweto or on one of the many other local or especially tailor-made
trips a tourist may wish to indulge in.
